On this one day workshop you will make 3 Copper-foiled Stained Glass hangings. You will be making a Bee, a Butterfly and a Heart on this workshop, there will be an opportunity to make seasonal decorations nearer Christmas!
This is a practical workshop and will include glass cutting, copper-foiling and soldering. The day is suitable for any level of experience including complete beginners. Your tutor, Carole Gray, is a designer and maker of decorative stained glass and uses many of the traditional techniques practised by stained glass artists over the centuries to create work which is highly contemporary and decorative. Carole is a member of the Contemporary Glass Society and the British Society of Master Glass Painters.
Please note that most of the morning will be spent standing up. You will be provided with aprons but you may also want to wear old clothes. You must not wear open shoes or have bare legs - even if it is warm! Do not wear loose clothing or dangly jewellery and long hair must be tied back in case it gets caught in machinery. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, you should consult your G.P. before enrolling on this workshop as working with solder (which contains lead) can be harmful to the developing baby.
